Our volunteers are essential to our service. We could not provide the service without their dedication.
There are many ways you could volunteer at Quiet Waters:
- Counselling (qualified counsellors and students needing a placement)*
- Bereavement Listening Support (in Quiet Waters or HM Prisons)
- Administration
- Board Member
- Gardening
* Diploma level and above
If you wish us to consider you for a role, we ask you to complete an application form and provide two referees.
We provide induction and training, as appropriate, to successful applicants.
For roles working directly with clients, we require volunteers to:
- Be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. Applications for membership and update requests are accessed via Quiet Waters. We can access these free for volunteers, except for students on placement.
- Have a Christian faith and spiritual support within the Christian community. This is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in terms of the Equality Act 2010.
